How to choose your PVC adapter

Identify the transition type

PVC adapters come in two main types, depending on the transition you need. A male adapter (a PVC terminal adapter) connects a PVC conduit to a junction box, a panel or another threaded body. A female adapter mates with a male-spigot pipe.

Use the right cement

Cement the PVC side of the adapter with PVC cement. Leave the threaded side uncemented: thread it on with Teflon tape if needed and lock it down with a locknut.
