LED panels

Modern office with ceiling lighting and contemporary furniture

LED panels deliver flat, even, energy-efficient light for indoor spaces with suspended or surface-mount ceilings. Accès Distribution Produits stocks CSA-certified LED panels in standard formats (2x2 and 2x4 feet), built for offices, retail, clinics, schools and institutional spaces.

How to choose your LED panel

Match the format to your ceiling

LED panels come mainly in three formats: 2x2 feet (60x60 cm), 1x4 feet (30x120 cm) and 2x4 feet (60x120 cm). The format follows your existing ceiling grid. The 2x4 is the most common in North American offices and stores.

Set the mounting type

An LED light panel mounts recessed in a suspended ceiling grid (troffer), surface-mounted to the ceiling, or suspended on cables. Recessed grid mounting is the simplest and most common.

Nail the colour temperature and output

For an office, 4000K strikes a good balance between comfort and productivity. For retail, lead with a colour rendering index (CRI) of 90 or higher for true colour; around 5000K also reads close to daylight. A 40W panel puts out roughly 5,000 to 6,000 lumens. Check the CRI, ideally 80 or higher.

Frequently asked questions

The 2x2 and 2x4 LED panels drop straight into standard suspended ceiling grids in place of fluorescent fixtures. The wiring may need a small adjustment depending on the model.

LED panels run 50,000 hours or more, about 12 to 15 years in office use (10 hours per day).

Some models work with 0-10V or TRIAC dimmers. The spec sheet spells out compatibility.

For a standard office, aim for 300 to 500 lux at the work surface. A 40W 2x4 panel covers about 6 to 8 square metres. For a 30-square-metre office, 4 to 5 panels are enough.
