Identify the existing box format

Accessories match the box format: square (4" x 4"), round (4") or rectangular (2" x 3"). Confirm your box dimensions before you order a cover, an extension or a mounting plate.

Choose the accessory type

An electrical box cover protects junction boxes and connections. A box extension adds depth when the existing box runs too shallow. A mounting plate lets you install outlets and switches.

Check device compatibility

Mounting plates and covers have to match the device you're installing: single outlet, double, switch or data connector.
