How to choose your LED light strip

A decorative LED strip creates light accents under cabinets, along cove ceilings or behind furniture. A functional strip adds working light in kitchens, workshops or commercial displays.

Define the use: decorative or functional

Check the length and power supply

LED strips come in rolls you can cut at set intervals. Add up the total length you need and pick a driver with enough power. Too much wiring on a single driver can dim the brightness at the end of the line.

Choose the right colour temperature

For residential ambiance, go with 3000K. For task or commercial lighting, 4000K to 5000K gives better visibility. Some models offer adjustable white. RGBW neon strips deliver white plus a wide range of colours, ideal for decorative settings.

Frequently asked questions

LED strips give you indirect or accent light for cove ceilings, under cabinets, behind furniture, in display cases or along stair treads. They serve both decoration and working light.

LED and neon strips can be cut at marked intervals (generally every 5 or 10 cm). Cut along the indicated line with scissors. Connectors let you join sections together.

Some LED strips are dimmable when paired with a compatible driver. Check the spec sheet to confirm compatibility with LED dimmers.

Quality LED strips last 30,000 to 50,000 hours, depending on the model and operating conditions. Good heat dissipation (an aluminium profile) extends that lifespan.
